Project Spotlight: Insect netting filter at Florensis

Project Spotlight: Insect netting filter at Florensis

Last year, we once again had the opportunity to complete a successful insect netting project for Florensis. To help prevent cross-pollination between different flower and plant varieties, we expanded the existing SchermNed Insect Netting Filter.

  • Cultivation: Flowers and plants
  • Location: Hendrik Ido Ambacht
  • Installation type: SchermNed insect netting filter

By effectively separating the different growing compartments with our Insect Netting Filter, a controlled greenhouse climate is maintained while preventing insects from moving freely between the compartments. This project was a continuation of an earlier collaboration. At the same location, we had previously equipped 132 ventilation vents with our SchermNed Insect Netting Filter and installed several fixed netting walls. In combination with the Bee Netting, this system forms an effective barrier between the different growing compartments, where flower and plant varieties must remain separated.

Efficiënt mesuring and on-site testing

As every greenhouse construction is unique, each of our projects starts with a thorough on-site survey. Our site supervisor carefully measures the entire greenhouse structure, after which our colleagues Marc and Bart installed several test nettings. This allowed us to verify that the system fitted the greenhouse construction and the ventilation vents perfectly.

Thanks to this approach, combined with the double-check principle described in our HortiQ certification, the installation was completed according to schedule, with hardly any issues encountered during the execution. The short lines of communication and the pleasant cooperation between our site supervisor and Florensis enabled us to complete the project efficiently and without any modifications.

The result

We look back on a successful project and an enjoyable collaboration. Thanks to thorough preparation, extensive quality checks and an efficient installation, Florensis now benefits from an Insect Netting Filter that contributes to a controlled growing environment and helps prevent unwanted cross-pollination.
